Categories is the area of consultation and education based resources which we offer at Planet Zero Waste. It aims to inspire, support and continue to grow this much needed service to the wider community. The more information that is known by the community, societies and corporations, for that matter, the better our reach. We are now working in three areas.
Households
Zero waste is shorthand for efforts to reduce, reuse, redesign and recycle. The goal is to throw away less by making better use of what humanity produces. It also aims to design products that don’t end up as waste, especially after just a single use.
Schools
Did you know that the average person produces 540kg of household waste per year in Australia? It’s estimated that in 2017, Australians generated 67 million tons of waste. That’s a lot of garbage!
What if we all do our part to reduce that number? One way to reduce your waste production is to start a Zero Waste School Program. Zero waste programs are designed to help schools eliminate waste and promote recycling and composting.
Hospitality
A Zero Waste Cafe or Restaurant follows waste reduction practices. These practices aim to minimise environmental impact. Customers are more interested than ever in sustainable practices, and they are looking for businesses that support this movement. Many are even willing to pay more for food that is environmentally friendly. If you’re looking to reduce your restaurant’s environmental impact, consider implementing some zero waste strategies!
