1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Planet Zero Waste website (www.planetzerowaste.com.au), community membership portal, and all related consulting, education, and auditing services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Planet Zero Waste (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing our website, registering for a membership, booking a consultation, or engaging with our Services in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Planet Zero Waste, a business operating in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
2. Our Services
Planet Zero Waste provides circular economy education and waste reduction consulting services, including:
- Home Waste Audits — personalised consulting for households to reduce landfill waste
- School Programs — hands-on waste audits and education programs for Australian schools
- Hospitality & Business Consulting — practical circular economy strategies for cafes, restaurants, and businesses
- Community Membership Portal — access to educational resources, guides, forums, and workshop announcements
- Blog & Guides — free educational content published on our website
The scope, deliverables, and pricing of paid consulting services will be agreed upon separately in writing prior to commencement of work.
3. Accounts and Membership
To access our community portal and member-only content, you must register for an account. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with others
- Notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account
- Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information, violate these Terms, or have been inactive for an extended period. We will provide reasonable notice before doing so where practicable.
Membership tiers and associated benefits are described on our website. We reserve the right to modify membership offerings with reasonable notice to existing members.
4. Bookings, Consultations, and Payments
Consulting services are booked via our website or by direct arrangement. The following conditions apply:
Bookings:
- A booking is confirmed once you receive written confirmation from us
- By booking a service, you agree to the scope and fee communicated at the time of booking
Cancellations and rescheduling:
- Cancellations made at least 48 hours before a scheduled consultation will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no charge
- Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the service fee
- No-shows without prior notice will be charged the full service fee
- We reserve the right to reschedule consultations due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, you will be offered a full refund or an alternative time
Payments:
- All fees are quoted and charged in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable
- Payment terms will be specified at the time of booking
- Overdue invoices may incur interest at a rate of 10% per annum
5. Acceptable Use
When using our website, portal, or community features, you agree not to:
- Use our Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Post content that is defamatory, offensive, harassing, discriminatory, or misleading
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems or other users’ accounts
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce our content, educational materials, or resources for commercial use without our written permission
- Spam other members through our community forums or messaging features
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these standards, without prior notice in serious cases.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Planet Zero Waste website and portal — including text, images, guides, audit templates, educational materials, logos, and branding — is the intellectual property of Planet Zero Waste or its licensors and is protected by Australian copyright law.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use our content for your own personal or internal organisational purposes. You must not:
- Reproduce, distribute, or republish our content commercially without written permission
- Modify or create derivative works from our materials
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

7. User-Generated Content
By posting content to our community portal, forums, or comment sections, you grant Planet Zero Waste a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content as part of operating the platform.
You represent that any content you post:
- Is your own original work or you have the right to share it
- Does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party
- Complies with our Acceptable Use standards in Section 5
We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, without notice.
8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
Our Services are provided in good faith and to the best of our professional ability. However:
- Our consulting recommendations are based on information you provide to us. Results will vary depending on individual circumstances, and we cannot guarantee specific waste reduction outcomes.
- Educational content on our website is provided for general informational purposes. It does not constitute professional environmental, legal, or financial advice.
- We make no warranties, express or implied, that our website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian consumer law, Planet Zero Waste’s liability for any claim arising from our Services is limited to the amount paid by you for the relevant service in the three months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), including guarantees as to acceptable quality and fitness for purpose. Our liability for a breach of such guarantees is limited, where permitted by law, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, resources, or products. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party sites.

11. School Programs — Additional Terms
Where we provide programs to schools, the following additional terms apply:
- Engagement of school services requires agreement from an authorised representative of the school (e.g. principal or business manager)
- Schools are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions or consents in relation to student participation, including from parents or guardians where required
- Planet Zero Waste will handle any student information in accordance with applicable education privacy laws and our Privacy Policy
- Deliverables, timelines, and fees for school programs will be set out in a separate written agreement
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email or via a notice on our website.
Your continued use of our Services after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using our Services and may close your account.
13. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
We may suspend or terminate your access to our Services, with or without notice, if:
- You breach these Terms
- We reasonably believe your conduct poses a risk to other users or to us
- We are required to do so by law
Upon termination, your right to access member-only content ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria for the resolution of any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms.
